Evaluation question 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?
To gain feedback of our music video, we presented our music video to our media class to see how they would react to the video. We filmed what they had to say about our music video, digi-pak and magazine advert as their feedback is important on telling us if we fitted the codes and conventions of a real video and also what bits they enjoyed the best/worse. Why they was watching the music video, we also asked them to complete a quick survey giving us their views of what they thought via www.surveymonkey.com. A second way we gained feedback was doing vox Pots were we interviewed people individual students to see ways we could improve our video and to hear their overall views. Below are all of our results and videos:

Deciding on Who's Magazine Advert & Digi-Pak we should use
As a group we all made an individual magazine advert so that we had an option of which ones will be best to choose from.
I created a questionnaire to give to people to fill out and decide who's magazine advert and Digi-Pak looks the best, you can see this questionnaire that i gave out underneath;
Questionnaire
Here is a bar chart of the results
As you can see from the results that the most popular option as Emilys magazine advert and here is the image:

I thought that i would make a little video of two characters talking about our album and choosing who's album cover is best. I used a website called "Go animate" . I have a girl who i made to be one of us from the girlband asking a man his opinion on the digipaks, here it is;

Editing
Now that we have most of our filming done, we have now begun to edit our music video together in final cut express. We have had to go through all of our footage and decide which is the best parts to use and where they would fit best in the song. As we film we need to mute the music which we filmed too as you would be able to over hear this to the mp3 of the song which we are editing too as it is a higher quality.

Filming update
Over the weekend that has just gone, dates; 4th and 5th of February we was going to film our narrative scenes, however because of severe weather it stopped us from being able to film outside.
Today we are going to film our narrative scenes at Emilys house, using her bedroom and area as our setting. The filming footage we filmed at Kerrys from the 22nd of February we have decided not to use this footage no more as it is not very clear and we all agreed that it looks more like a home made video rather than a music video. Below is a clip of some of the footage from Kerrys;

Research into digi-paks
My next step after my magazine advert is to begin to create our digi-paks. As i am working in a group, we are individually going to create our own digi-paks and then choose which one will be the best. I decided to film my two cousins of what type of music they listen to and what type of album covers they would buy and why. Below are my videos:
In this video, Keeley talks about The Wanted's album and why she prefers it to Justin Biebers. She says that The Wanted album offers more to her as it contains more images, more information and has posters inside it. The Wanted album is a digi-pak which tells me that this comes to more of an interest to the audience as they are getting better value for their money as they have more to look at and read. I think that it is a very good idea that The Wanted have included extra posters inside their album as it means that their fans can keep these seperate from the album and could put them on their walls, this may make people want to buy this type of album rather than others. Below are some images of The Wanted digipak;
Here i have interviewed Kelsey who is a younger age of Keeley to ask her what she thinks of Dig-Paks. Kelsey states in this video that she does not really like Digi-paks as she thinks that their is too much contained into one thing. For example, some artists decide to do more than one CD in some of their digi-paks but kelsey said that she does not think that this is a good idea as the more CD's their are the more boring she finds them. I asked Kelsey what she would like to see in my digi-pak and she said more images than writing and bright colours as this would interest her more.

Photo shoot for digipak & magazine adverts
Tuesday 17th January 2012
Today, we went to our studio to do our photo shoot for our digipak and magazine advert. Below are some of the images which we took and will begin to edit in photoshop. We had to take a number of different images as we are a group so will all be using different images and to also make it look more interesting to our audience. Individually we will be making our own magazine adverts and then put them together to decide which one is the best one to use. We have got images from different angles, still images and moving images to add more of an affect.

filming - 11th January 2011
Today was our first day of filming, we brought in our outside actors in to our school studio where we began to film our chorus. We all brought in our outfits and made the boys wear casual and smart clothes and began to lip sync the lyrics. We got a fair bit done of the chorus today but we still we need to do more filming which we will be doing for the next two weeks. Below are some pictures which we took from filming.

Asking permission to film
As we are using actors in our music video which do not come to this school, we have to get permission to make sure that they are allowed on to our school premises.
Here is evidence that we emailed our media teacher to ask her if this would be okay and if she would be there for health & safety reasons.
Here is the email which i sent.
Here my teacher replied "ThaTs fine lauren, I will be here. J" This shows that we have been given the okay to get outside students into our school to be able to use them to film.

Meeting
Today, our group came together to discuss our important dates and schedule which we need to work towards. We have realised that we are working within a tight schedule so we all gave our thoughts in which we can do to make sure we meet our deadlines.
In our meeting, we went to book out our studio with our technician where we will be filming our performative scenes this wednesday. We told the technician what props & equipment we will be needing;
- Table
- Camera
- Tri-pod
- Microphone Stands
- Chair
On Wednesday we will be filming the performative scene which means that in the studio we should hopefully have our chorous scenes completed.
As the deadlines are tight, we realised we still needed to find 4 boys to be in our video.
Kerry found a friend of hers who said he will be happy to take part, to find the other boys, me and Chloe posted a status on facebook as this is where we could target our age range. We got responses from a friend called Anthony who said he will take part and also said he will ask his friends.
The next meeting, we will all begin filming but will be discussing what we need to do before we actually begin our shoot.

Group Meeting - deciding song.
Today, Me, Kerry, Emily and Chloe all had a group meeting as we needed to decide on a song choice which we could all work with and it having an interesting element to go with it.
We decided that we should listen to the class feedback which they gave us when we presented our proposal and have still gone on the decision of a song choice of The Saturdays.
We looked at a few of The Saturdays songs and all gave ideas of what we could do with each of these videos;
This video we all thought that it would be hard to put a story line to the video which means we would not be able to make the video very narrative. We all agreed that if we would use this video then we would have to film nearly all of our video in the studio making it just performative and this would be quite boring and not very unique. From this video, we have decided to use the different close up shots of what the video has used of each of the members and also the individual colours of what each member wears as this will let each one of us stand out.
Another video which we then looked at of The Saturdays was "All Fired Up"
We all thought that this video was quite a fast pace through the video but we liked the idea of them all dancing together in time as this fits in with The girlband genre. We decided that this would also be a hard video to work with as it has a fast beat going through the track which means it would be hard to work with and cut in to different places meaning we would not be able to have many shots in the video.
Our Final Song Choice
Finally, we all found a song which we found and agreed would be the best one for us!
Here is the video of what we will be doing our music video. We decided that The Saturdays Ego would be the best choice out of all the songs which we have looked at. The reason as why we think this would be a good song to work with is because it has a good storyline to go with it as the girls are singing about one of their ex boyfriends which means that we could put a good performative and narrative video along with the song. We all decided that using some elements from other Saturday videos would be a good idea, such as the close up performative of Up and the dancing scenes in Fired up.

Group Proposal and our decision.
Below is our group proposal which we presented to our class to receive feedback on which idea that they think would be best. This proposal contains all of the ideas in which we thought of individually, how we would go about filming the idea and who would be in the videos.
The class gave us our feedback that they thought the best ideas out of the 4 would be; Kelly Rowland - Commander and The Saturdays - Up. As a group we then thought of ideas which we could do to go with the song UP but have realised that this may be a hard song to work with.

Digipack
Here is my mock up of a digipak which we could use for our video. The one which i have designed, i have done 5 compartments:
1st Compartment - Front cover, with a pictue of us as a group, introducing who we are. At the top of thiscompartment, in bold writing i have wrote 'Sound Girl' in bold writing so that anyone who wants to buy the album knows who us as a band are. The front compartment is probably one of the most important parts of the whole digipak, due to this being the first thing the customers see, this means that colour has to be important. Soundgirl, can be wrote in rainbow colours so that it stands out and the picture can be in colour so that the customers get a clear view of who we are. Underneath each one of us, in bold black writing i have wrote our names so that it introduces us individually as well as a band.
2nd Compartment - After the customers seeing who Sound girl are, they can open up to the second compartment were i have wrote some background information on us. This information can contain on who we are, how we was formed, when we was formed, who is our management and other information which artists would like to let their fans know.
3rd Compartment - This is where the CD is, it needs to look catchy as this is the main reason why the customers will be buying our digipak. The more catchy it looks then the more chances of the CD selling.
4th Compartment - I decided to add lyrics to the songs so that the customers who brought the CD can get involved by singing along to the song.
5th Compartment - Lastly, i added a large picture of us as the group.

Research Of music videos that are similar to mine
Alexis Jodan - Hush Hush
I have decided that this song by Alexis Jordan is similar to Soundgirls as it has the same upbeat backing track. From this video i can tell that songs with a fast beats, tend to have alot of change in shots quickly allowing more to be seen in the video . Both "Hush, Hush" and "Dont know why" have a genre of pop which works well with the audience as the majority of people enjoy upbeat music. Alexis Jordan is at a young age, the same as the girls who are in Soundgirl, this makes their taste in the music similar and can influence on the type of music that they are going to produce
Jason Derulo - Dont Wanna Go home
Jason Derulo song 'Dont Wanna Go Home' takes a little while before the main song is broke into. However when the beat starts to this song, it straight away tells me that the genre is same to Soundgirl. Jason Derulo has used the backing song of 'Robin S - Show me Love' in the background to this song, this straight away grabs the attention of the listeners as it is a very famous popular song which nearly everyone enjoys. As it is such an upbeat song it makes people want to carry on listening to it, this is what Sound Girl done as 'Dont know why' has previouslt been released so listeners would recognise the song.
Parade - Louder
Louder, gives out the same fun, exciting atmosphere which Soundgirl - Dont know why gives. With both of these two groups being contained with girls, they tend to make music which have a storyline behind it and this is what these two songs do. They both have the same genre of pop, with a track which is catchy and sticks into the audiences head. This could of been another option in which our group used as we can relate ourself to the girls in the band.

Update
During the summer holidays i have been thinking of some ideas of what we can do when it comes to shooting our video. As this song is quite upbeat, i think that we need to film it quickly so that we can make the most of the nice weather, if we ever have any! This means that the weather will set out a good vibe along with the music video. I think that a good location were we could maybe film our music video could be somewhere like a park or a beach which can be related to summer.

Our Song idea!
Here is the choice of our final song in which we have chosen:
We decided to choose Sound Girl - Dont Know why as our final choice due to the fast and up beat which is used through out and the lyrics which are not too slow or fast. With this song it gives out a sense of fun and happiness which can relate to our band members due to us all being teenagers. When we remake this video we will have to start filming early as we will also need nice sunny weather which goes with the song. This song has a story which goes with it as the girls are talking about boy problems so we all think that it will be easy to put a story in our video which will capture the audiences attention more. In this video their has been a lot of different cuts and camera angles which has been used to speed up the video, we could consider this when we are making our version.
This video will be easy to lip sync as the lyrics are spaced out and do not go too fast so we will be able to capture every word which is sung.

Research of songs to pick from
Before we made our final choice of what music video we wanted to re create, we had to research into different songs to pick from. As a group, we all looked at different bands and the different music videos in which they had made, listening to the lyrics and beat closely we had to make a final decision.
Below are some of the videos in which we listened too before deciding Sound Girl.
This here is Pussycat dolls song - when i grow up. We had this as one of our options as the music is upbeat and the words in which they sing along with the music is not too slow. We all agreed that having a music with a fast beat and lyrics which weren't too slow would be easier to work with as it would be easier to lip sync.
Destiny Childs - Lose my breath, was another option which our group put across as an idea to work with . As a group we decided that there may be better options than this song so all decided to look at different groups with songs similar to this one. With this song, i felt like we couldn't really put a story to the song so don't think that the music video would had looked as effective.
As we are all girls, we thought that doing a girls band like girls aloud would be a good idea as we could all take part of their roles and really get into the role. However when we listened to this song of 'The Promise' we decided that the song was a little slower than the previous ones in which we had listened too so thought that it would be a hard song to work with.

Research into my chosen song
The chosen song which i have decided to put forward to my group is 'The Wanted' new song called 'Glad You Came.' The reason why i have decided to choose this song compared to the others in which i researched is because the band is composed of five boys, with these five boys we could change the roles into girls, making our video have a twist to an original.
As the video does'nt really tell a story, it shows the life of going out partying, finding new relationships and shows how teenagers enjoy living life. This would be a good video to use as teenagers themselves (our targert audience) would be interested in to the video as they can relate to it.
The actual song of 'Glad you came' has an upbeat to it, which gives out the impression of partying which us teenagers enjoy, i personally think that there would be a lot from this video which we can bring out in to our own version.
History of the song
Glad you Came is still to be released, its date for it to be out to download is the 10th of July, as soon as it has been released i will post the position it came in the charts.
The songwritter of the song was by a dream team of; Steve Mac, Wayne Hector and Ed Drewett. The band themselves have decided that this would be the first single of their new album which they are currently working on. By them releasing the song in July, it makes it set to be a big hit for summer, which once again can relate back to teenagers as this will be a big hit playing in the clubs. Artists such as Alex Gaudino has already made a remix of the song which gives this song an even more of a chance to be successful.
History of 'The Wanted''The Wanted' are a british pop band who were put together in 2009, containing five boys:
- Tom Parker
- Nathan Sykes
- Max George
- Siva Kaneswaran
- Jay McGuiness
They were formed together by Jayne Collins who also manages other bands, she put the boys together via a mass audition. They have already been on one tour which was called 'Behind Bars' which was promoting their album and are currently working on their second album which is to be released later on this year.

Ideas of music Videos
essie J
Jessie J is one of my ideas of what i would want to use for my music videos due to the differant shots which are used to show differant aspects in the video. The costumes in which she wears tends to change through the video which makes it more exciting as the audience is not just watching the same character through out. In this video, Jessie j has made it upbeat and exciting, throughout it allows us the audience to find out what she is like as an artist due to her dancing and face expressions which she uses. The sense which i get from this video is that she has a sense of rock in her and a different sense of style due to her lipstick she wears with sharp pins coming out.
I personally think that this would be a good idea for me and my group to remake as we would all be able to have differant roles to take on.
Katy B
Katy B is an interesting solo artist who is 22 years old. This video is'nt very clear of Katy herself, which would give us the chance to remake the video making it a way of how we would think the video should be made. The video shows Katy performing at a few gigs and seeing how the audience reacts to her. With the flashing neon lights, it gives us the sense of rave which yet again can be linked back to teenagers as this shows the life of partying and clubbing.
The Wanted
The Wanted is a boy band which is composed of 5 boys, with these 5 boys we could remake the video but using 5 girls so adding a twist to the video. The video shows the boys on a beach, partying and having a good time which could represent the life of us teenage girls. I personally think that this would be one of the best. The video shows the personality and lifestyle of the band which makes it interesting to watch for our target audience of teenagers as this is the kind of lifestyle which we enjoy which is going out to party.
LMFAO
This video of LMFAO, is all about the artists 'shuffling' and having a good time together. This video gives us an impression of madness as everyone is just dancing and their are items which are out of place such as the dancing robot. This music which they produce is electro, hip hop, house and funky which is the main genre of music in which teenagers enjoy listening too. The idea in which we can put in to this video is filming differant people in differant age groups trying the shuffle whilest adding a bit of a twist too it.
